As a result of the negotiations carried out between TAI and the Italian AgustaWestland Company, which is one of the leading helicopter manufacturers of Europe, a contract, regarding the production of the fuselage of the newly developed AW139 helicopter at TAI’s facilities, was signed on 19 March 2004 and became effective in April 2004.

Within the framework of the contract, a total of 250 AW139 helicopter fuselages will be manufactured at TAI’s facilities between 2005-2017. The first fuselage was shipped to AgustaWestland on 21 December 2006.

Under the program, a total of 26 fuselages have been delivered in 2007. Within the framework of the program, in manufacturing of which metal bonding, titanium and composite materials are used, TAI is in cooperation with local sub-contractor companies.
