TAI to deliver F-16s to Pakistan
Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) has modernized the last four of Pakistan's F-16 fighter jets, completing a contract that began five years ago. The remaining four aircrafts will be handed over in a ceremony in Ankara today. The program, which saw TAI sign a contract with Pakistan's Defense Ministry in 2009, saw Turkish technicians upgrade and test 41 aircrafts. TAI began co-producing U.S. designed F-16s for the Turkish Air Force in 1984 and is known as one of the world's main aerospace companies involved in manufacturing and modernizing F-16's. The Turkish company has also upgraded the Royal Jordanian Air Force's F-16s.
